The figures below describe the resource and storage impact of a single Syteca client session at default settings (full HD display resolution, default screen capture and color configuration). Use these numbers to plan storage capacity and network bandwidth for your deployment.
Performance is measured for one session at full HD resolution with default screen capture and color settings. Actual values will vary based on user activity levels, screen resolution, and client configuration.

Performance per client session

Remote SSH Linux client sessions frequently generate more data than other client types and may exceed the average figures above.

Windows client data volumes

Linux client data volumes

Applies to X Window System (graphical) sessions only. Remote SSH sessions often generate significantly more data.

Reducing data volume

The amount of data each client sends to the Application Server can be reduced through configuration:
  • Windows clients — adjust recording, monitoring, and filtering parameters so activity is only captured under specific conditions. See Windows Client Configuration.
  • macOS clients — configure recording and monitoring parameters to limit capture scope. See macOS Client Configuration.
  • Linux clients — define specific function calls or command output to skip or limit during monitoring. See Linux Client Configuration.
